During Catholic Schools Week, we seized the opportunity to highlight our dedication to service and kindness through a lively "Jesus in Action" activity. We introduced a class competition to acknowledge these acts of kindness. Whenever a student's actions reflected "Jesus in Action", the thoughtful deed was documented on a colorful sticky note and displayed on a special wall. These students were then presented with a miniature Jesus figure along with a "Jesus in Action" sticker to proudly wear.
The walls outside the main office quickly turned into a vibrant display of colorful stickies, each representing a student's heartfelt act of kindness. Equally vibrant and seemingly endless was the number of students proudly sporting their "Jesus in Action" sticker on their uniforms!
Upon reflecting on the activity, the sentiments of two young learners resonate deeply. One student remarked, "It doesn't matter which grade wins, but that we all act with kindness." Another insightfully noted the inevitability of running out of miniature Jesus figures, affirming, "Of course you would be running out—this is a kind school."
What initially began as a fun, colorful week-long event has continued with enthusiasm in the days that followed. The "Jesus in Action" initiative serves as a powerful reminder of St. Mary's commitment to embodying the teachings of Jesus in everyday actions. It stands as a testament to the school's mission of service and compassion, guiding students to live out their faith in tangible ways that extend well beyond the boundaries of Catholic Schools Week.
